Adventure Cycling near Amsterdam
Today’s blog includes a video from what we called “Tulip Tour 2015” and this clip is of our visit to The Keukenhof Garden in Lisse, Netherlands. We stayed in Haarlem after a 10+ mile bike ride from the heart of Amsterdam. That was after we got lost trying to find the bike rental shop. We had actually found it the day before, but somehow lost our way on the day we needed them, and ended up hiking at least 6 extra blocks. We unloaded our gear on the sidewalk and packed it into panniers and made our way via the excellent bike paths between towns. It was weekend, but we decided to go for it anyway, and it was certainly packed with people, as well as unimaginable fields of Tulips on the way in and around the Keukenhof.
Visiting the Keukenhof Garden
We heard that the Keukenhof had over seven million tulip bulbs on display during their short two-month opening. We knew it was going to be crowded, but it is a must-see for any flower lover that visits the area and has the opportunity to walk its paths and see the blooms. Plus, on the way in and around the garden, there are numerous fields of tulips with bike paths and roads intersecting and leading different directions. We normally have music on the videos, but my husband wanted to share the sounds of all the people in the garden.
